Alumni Gifting is built around verified school communities, student control, school approval, and careful handling of Grady conversations.

Authoritative records
Confirmed application records—not chat transcripts—are the source of truth for profiles, approvals, donations, and permissions.
School-year retention
Student Grady transcripts may not be deleted before June 30 of the applicable school year and remain protected while a student has an active school relationship or an open review.
Audio is separate
Voice transcripts and raw audio are treated separately. Audio retention requires its own consent-controlled decision.
What we collect
Alumni Gifting collects account information, school affiliation, verification details, student profile fields, activity participation, communication preferences, donation records, Grady conversation records, and operational telemetry needed to run and secure the platform.
How Grady data is used
Grady, the Alumni Gifting AI assistant, may collect, clarify, translate, and recommend profile updates. The application remains authoritative: confirmed answers are written into structured tables with validation, source information, and audit history.
Why student Grady transcripts are retained
Student Grady transcripts are retained during the active school year and, by default, while the student remains actively affiliated with the school for documented student-record continuity purposes:
- continuity of student support;
- profile corrections and disputes;
- safeguarding and administrative review;
- approval and access investigations;
- audit of AI interpretations and student confirmations; and
- parent, eligible-student, school, or platform record requests.
Access and correction
Students, eligible students, parents where applicable, schools, and platform administrators may need to review or correct records. Requests can be sent through the Alumni Gifting Support Team or escalated to Admin when platform-administrator review is needed.
